The kid in the parking lot
Around 4am I was woken up by a woman screaming for help down in the parking lot. It seemed to be coming from the same building where I've heard a young couple argue before. The woman was screaming, "Help me! Help me! Oh god, please, somebody help me!"
Fearing she was in trouble, I put on some clothes and quickly ran down the stairs. On my way down I didn't hear the woman screaming anymore, and thought I heard a car drive off. Then I go outside and I didn't see anybody, but I saw a little boy running across the parking lot. He couldn't have been more than 2 years old, just running through the parking lot by himself at 4 o'clock in the morning.
When the little boy saw me he stopped. I asked him, "Where is your momma?" And he just sorta pointed to the direction where I thought I heard the car go. I looked around the parking lot for a minute, looking for anybody, but no one was in sight.
I walked to the building where I heard the woman screaming and there was one unit that had the lights on and the door was wide opened and the TV was on. I knocked on the door and called out, but no one answered. I saw a stroller parked next to the door, and I thought maybe this is where the kid lived.
I waited some more, and looked around the parking lot with the kid following me around. He was trying to tell me something but I couldn't understand a word he was saying. I tried asking him again where his momma was and where he lived, but he could't tell me anything. At this point, fearing the worst, I wasn't sure whether I should call the police. From the sounds of those screams, I was imagining maybe his momma was in some kind of trouble.
As I was debating what to do next, I see a car pull into the parking lot. I tell the kid to stay close as the car approached. The car pulls up and a guy comes out. There is also a woman in the car, who seems to be avoiding the guy. The kid sees the guy and he runs to him. I ask him, "Is he yours?" He just mumbles "yeah" while avoiding eye contact and he goes in the building.
I glance at the woman in the car and she seems okay. She didn't look like she was in trouble, but she did look a bit upset. As I walked away, I heard her come out of the car, and before I'm too far, she shouts to me, "Thank you very much, mister!" and I yell back, "No problem." And then I walk back to my place, and hope for the best.

Wow! Crazy and frightening story. Poor kid. I hate it when people act crazy in front of kids. Hopefully he's young enough that he won't remember being abandoned in an empty parking lot at 4 in the morning.
Yeah. And I'm just glad his parents decided to come back. I was tired and didn't feel like talking to cops.
Damn Paulo, you're a cool customer. I'd have been down there P99 in hand, cellphone in the other. lol.
Times like this I wish I had a Colt 45 (not the beverage).
Weird. Don't you wish you knew the whole story?
They maybe had a fight, drove off, and came back, I don't know. But poor kid.
