"... It was like certain dinners I remember from the war. There was much wine, an ignored tension, and a feeling of things coming that you could not prevent happening. Under the wine I lost the disgusted feeling and was happy. It seemed they were all such nice people."

A night on the General Jackson

On Saturday night a bunch of people from work got tickets to go on the General Jackson, a boat that takes us on the Cumberland River around downtown Nashville.

We boarded ship around 6:45pm and cruised on the river till about 10pm. We started at the upper deck where they had a bar and a dance floor, but it was freezing up there so we toured around the boat, cut through the big dining room (we didn't have reservations for a table), and found another bar inside. Here they had food and drinks, and everyone had a good time. We were so loud I think we drove everyone else out of the bar... after a while it was just us. After that some of us went downtown to Decades and Tootsie's.

Nashville Oktoberfest 2009

On Saturday we went to Oktoberfest in Nashville. Every year they hold a street festival celebrating umm... Nashville's German heritage here in the historic Germantown district. Lots of beer, food, and fun for everyone.
