Imeem is gone
Imeem is gone. Apparently they have been bought out by MySpace. I can't tell you how much this pisses me off. All of my music streams are gone from my posts. I had to delete all my music I've posted on this blog.

It sucks for sure, the new myspace music sucks balls.
WTF another company made rich my users sells out, thus screwing the people who made it successful. I bet there wont be any 'free' playlists any more, you can count on that. Phucking sell outs..
I am SO mad about this as well. I don't think there is any other place that could compare to IMEEM. And to have been bought out by Myspace? That is the most lame thing I've heard. Myspace is blocked by so many companies, and other places. It is just ridiculous.

I'm sorry to hear that! I was planning on checking it out soon, after hearing you give it rave reviews.
I had two playlists totalling around 650 songs.... and I dont remember most of the music on them ... its lost forever. I need them :(
FURIOUS is too kind of a word to describe how I feel about IMEEM becoming Myspace Music. EPIC Sell out!
I'm furious too, I found so many rare songs on there, listened to it on a daily basis. But it was a free service, and I'm pretty sure all this was in their terms of use.
EPIC SELLOUT is true. They sold out for not even a million dollars.
I'm quite depressed about this too. I listen to Imeem every single day. It was one of my most favorite and frequented sites. I just never found anything else that was as nice to use and organize. *sigh*
Definitely not planning on being on my space. Had a zillion playlists, especially ready for holiday time music. Unbelievably amateur for Imeem.
Any other music sites recommended?
Aside from www.playlist.com, I've stumbled across www.we7.com and www.lala.com... with www.lala.com being my preference, thus far. I still can't find a website that holds true to IMEEM. RIP IMEEM-- yesterday was a sad, sad day :'(
P.S.- I still am pissed...I originally wrote about being furious and calling them an Epic sell out. -_-
Because many of you have asked, everyone is invited to join us for the "IMEEM 'Refugee' Radio Show". This show will be an opportunity to share our thoughts about the demise of IMEEM Music Service. I'll be taking your email and will be discussing our favorite site. I'll also be playing your requests and hopefully, helping to ease the pain of losing the site. Tune into the show on Friday, December 11, 2009 beginning at 7:00pm EST US. There will be a rebroadcast on Saturday, December 12, 2009 beginning at 7:00am EST US. The radio station address

I think all my friends, groups and music in Imeem are gone forever, it really pisses me off completely.
Just hope myspace can restore all the friendlists comments and groups and of course the layout of all our imeem profiles.
I found a website called www.Grooveshark.com that is a twist between IMEEM and Pandora. It's way better than Pandora because you actually can listen to the song you search and listen to songs as many times as you want. Hopefully it brings up your spirits just a tad...
Ive been a fan of Immem from day one. I m so lost without it. I hate my space, even if they bought it they should have kept it as a seperate entity
I am actually so angry, too.
I often think why such sites never anounce to delete ours beforehand.
They say there are many issues about piracy or copyright in streaming sites.
But it is the true problem that they ruin the oppotunity to meet
the world music and culture.
imeem was the rare site for me to know great asian music.
Even though they dealt this for protecting the copyright,
It is less I buy real CDs.
It's very likely that MySpace did little things here and there to make Imeem feel like their livelihood was in danger, then swooped in and offered to "save the day" by paying Imeem to take over.
Nobody likes this change. I used to be able to listen to and buy the music I liked with little more than two clicks. I could put music on my profiles without the hardcore lag, and even if I was on dial-up or a really bad computer I could listen to music in one Tab/Window while browsing the web in another.
There is a *REASON* MySpace Music has lost popularity, and it's because of the headgames it plays with it's users.

IMEEM Music web site was the best ever built.
free streaming music from allmost any genre
high quality sound plus you could find
forgotten artists.
not even(the new Napster) or any of the paid
music services on the net could come close to
IMEEM.
unfortunate good thing never last.
a spoiled apple like my space had to take over
why? well we all know the answer.
M O N E Y.
time to look for the next music challenger.
Farewell IMEEM R.I.P.
Fucking disgraceful IMEEM, What was Myspace thinking? Don't they realise they have just alienated their ENTIRE audidience by just jumping ship?
No wonder it sold for under a million, cause Myspace only bought a few people using this tactic.
